The river Soulondre

Sally and David McEwen run painting workshops from thier bed and breakfast, L'Atelier du Soulondre in Lodeve, France.

Sally and David McEwen welcome you to their home in the ancient town of Lodeve, in the warm, relaxing south of France. Lodeve is a small town at the foot of the Cevennes and is the gateway to the Mediterranean. It is very proud of its 12th century cathedral and has many shops and restaurants.

A real home away from home — stimulating company and sublime cooking.

L’Atelier du Soulondre is situated in a very quiet, small street at the edge of the town and has a lovely garden, with fruit trees and shrubs and steps down to the river Soulondre.

The meals each evening, taken “en famille” and provided by Sally, have fresh local produce from France’s finest garden and the local wine is always flowing! All diets can be catered for. Good food, good wine and interesting conversations help make your stay more memorable.

Smoking is allowed, but the studio and indoor workspaces will be non-smoking. Pets are permitted. Free Wireless Internet service is available.

If you would like to come as a painter, but not participate in a workshop, then Bed and Breakfast rates will apply plus a small charge of €16 per day for use of David’s studio, if the weather is inclement. Easels are available but please bring your own art materials.
